Alexandra Gray (she/ her)

I’m a writer of play scripts, essays, and fundraising text. My work for live theater has been produced at La Mama, Dixon Place, IRT Theater, and One Arm Red. As a founding member of multimedia slapstick ensemble Six Characters and sketch trio Booby Hatch, I co-wrote and co-produced five evening-length shows, three award-winning video shorts, and a 30-minute pilot. My other writing has been featured in the Huffington Post, Girl Crush zine (editors Jenna Wortham and Thessaly La Force), the switched-up storytelling series No, You Tell It!, the Gorgeous Ladies of Comedy website (theGLOC.net – RIP), and numerous outposts on the internet. As a freelance grant writer, I maintain a small group of clients in the arts, environmental, and social service sectors.

I’m an actor who performs my own work and the work of others. I’ve been spotted on stage in NYC (at the UCB Theatre, St. Ann’s Warehouse, La Mama, HERE Arts Center, The Kraine, Under St. Marks, The Connelly, and many other dusty hallowed venues), as well as in New Jersey and Florida.

I’ve been dancing hula for over ten years, most recently with Lei Pasifika.

Brooklyn-based.
